As an FPGA Engineer: Physical AI & Robotics, you will join the team to develop next-generation Physical AI platforms using AMD Adaptive SoCs and Ryzen AI Embedded processors. You will design reference architectures, proof-of-concept designs, and customer solutions for robotics, industrial automation, autonomous machines, and smart vision systems. Your daily work involves developing FPGA RTL, AI Engine, HLS, and embedded software components while integrating high-speed interfaces like PCIe, Ethernet, DisplayPort, MIPI CSI/DSI, USB, and CAN. You will build sensor processing pipelines for cameras, radar, LiDAR, and IMUs. The role requires proficiency in Verilog, SystemVerilog, VHDL, C/C++, and the Vivado and Vitis environments. You will solve complex system-level challenges at the intersection of hardware and software to enable intelligent edge devices and accelerate deployment of innovative machine vision and motion control technologies.
Design and develop FPGA and Adaptive SoC solutions for robotics, industrial automation, and autonomous systems.
Create reference architectures and proof-of-concept designs using AMD Vivado and Vitis tools.
Develop FPGA RTL, AI Engine, HLS, and embedded software components in Yocto environments.
Integrate high-speed interfaces such as PCIe, Ethernet, DisplayPort, and industrial communication protocols.
Build sensor processing pipelines for cameras, radar, LiDAR, and other edge sensing technologies.
Perform board bring-up, silicon validation, hardware debugging, and system performance optimization.
Collaborate with internal engineering teams to influence future product capabilities based on customer needs.
Provide technical solutions to strategic customers to accelerate the deployment of Physical AI products.
What we're looking for
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Robotics Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
Experience with FPGA development using Verilog, SystemVerilog, or VHDL.
Proficiency with AMD Vivado, Vitis, Vitis HLS, and AI Engine tools.
Experience in embedded software development using C/C++, Embedded Linux, Yocto, RTOS, or bare-metal environments.
Expertise in hardware/software co-design and integrating FPGA accelerators with embedded processors.
Experience integrating high-speed interfaces such as PCIe, Ethernet, DisplayPort, MIPI CSI/DSI, USB, and CAN.
Experience developing solutions for robotics, industrial automation, autonomous systems, or machine vision.
Strong skills in hardware bring-up, debugging, system performance optimization, and customer-facing technical communication.
