JOB TITLE: FPGA Engineer: Physical AI & Robotics
AMD is seeking an FPGA/Adaptive SoC Applications Design Engineer to develop next-generation Physical AI platforms using AMD Adaptive SoCs, Ryzen AI Embedded processors, and FPGA technologies. Working within a team of architecture, silicon, and software engineers, you will design reference architectures, proof-of-concepts, and customer solutions for robotics, industrial automation, and autonomous machines. Your daily responsibilities include developing FPGA RTL, AI Engine, HLS, and embedded software components while integrating high-speed interfaces like PCIe, Ethernet, and MIPI. You will utilize Vivado, Vitis, and Yocto environments to build sensor processing pipelines for cameras, radar, and LiDAR. The role requires expertise in Verilog, SystemVerilog, C/C++, and hardware/software co-design to solve complex system-level challenges in intelligent edge devices and machine vision applications.
Design and develop FPGA and Adaptive SoC solutions for robotics, industrial automation, and autonomous systems.
Create reference architectures and proof-of-concept designs for AMD Adaptive SoC and Ryzen AI technologies.
Develop FPGA RTL, AI Engine, HLS, and embedded software using Vivado, Vitis, and Yocto.
Integrate high-speed interfaces such as PCIe, Ethernet, DisplayPort, and industrial communication protocols.
Develop sensor processing pipelines for cameras, radar, LiDAR, and other edge sensing technologies.
Perform board bring-up, silicon validation, hardware debugging, and system performance optimization.
Resolve complex hardware and software issues to deliver robust technical solutions for strategic customers.
What we're looking for
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Robotics Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
Design and develop FPGA and Adaptive SoC solutions for Physical AI applications like robotics and industrial automation.
Develop FPGA RTL, AI Engine, HLS, and embedded software components using AMD Vivado, Vitis, and Yocto.
Integrate high-speed interfaces including PCIe, Ethernet, DisplayPort, MIPI CSI/DSI, USB, and CAN.
Develop sensor processing pipelines for cameras, radar, LiDAR, and IMUs.
Support board bring-up, silicon validation, hardware debugging, and system performance optimization.
FPGA development using Verilog, SystemVerilog, or VHDL (preferred).
Embedded software development using C/C++, Embedded Linux, Yocto, RTOS, or bare-metal (preferred).
