The Field Engineer - Emergency Call Handling joins the Software Enterprise Deployment and Integration team to deliver critical solutions for the public safety sector. This role is responsible for implementing on-premise and cloud-hosted emergency call handling systems, including site configuration, testing, cut procedures, and post-cut support. The engineer will manage connectivity between local infrastructure and cloud environments, document API integrations, and develop Methods of Procedure for system upgrades. Key technical requirements include experience with Azure or AWS platforms, Microsoft SQL Server, Windows and Linux operating systems, and VMWare ESXi or Hyper-V virtualization. Additionally, the role requires proficiency in Cisco IOS network switches, Fortinet firewalls, and identity management. The work focuses on solving complex integration challenges for public safety applications to ensure reliable emergency response infrastructure.
Configure on-premise and cloud-hosted Emergency Call Handling solutions based on specific site designs.
Perform site verification testing before transitioning systems into production environments.
Troubleshoot connectivity between local infrastructure and cloud-hosted application environments.
Provide technical support to customers and channel partners during the deployment phase.
Document all changes to solution configurations, including cloud tenants and API integrations.
Develop and approve Methods of Procedure for cloud migrations and system upgrades.
Participate in pre-contract oral presentations and customer negotiations as required.
What we're looking for
High School diploma, Associate's degree, or Bachelor's degree is required.
Candidates must have Telco and Public Safety experience.
Legal authorization to work in the U.S. indefinitely is required.
Experience in deployment and integration of complex IP products and systems.
Experience with Cloud Platforms (Azure, AWS, or Private Cloud) and related troubleshooting like latency analysis and identity management.
CompTIA Network+ and Security+ certifications are required.
Experience with server virtualization (VMWare ESXi or Microsoft Hyper-V), database servers (Microsoft SQL Server), and various operating systems including Windows and Linux.
