As the Facilities Operations Manager – Mechanical, you will lead the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of mission-critical mechanical systems supporting OCI data centers. Reporting to the Senior Critical Facilities Manager, you will own mechanical plant operations, maintenance execution, vendor performance, and technician leadership across cooling and HVAC infrastructure. Your daily responsibilities include managing preventive maintenance, corrective work, and troubleshooting for equipment such as chillers, cooling towers, pumps, CRAHs, AHUs, and CDUs. You will serve as the technical lead for incident escalation while ensuring uptime is protected through rigorous documentation and safety standards. The role requires expertise in chilled water systems, BMS, SCADA, DCIM, and CMMS tools. You will manage technicians and contractors to ensure high-availability performance within a complex data center environment, focusing on infrastructure reliability rather than long-range design authority.

What you'll do

Manage daily operations, maintenance, and service execution for critical mechanical and HVAC infrastructure.
Oversee mechanical plant readiness including preventive maintenance, corrective work, inspections, and backlog management.
Serve as the primary site technical lead for mechanical systems and incident escalation.
Manage technicians, contractors, and vendors to ensure safety, quality of work, and SLA adherence.
Lead troubleshooting and response efforts for mechanical failures or performance degradation affecting uptime.
Track and improve key performance indicators such as equipment availability and maintenance completion rates.
Conduct root cause analysis for recurring issues and implement verified corrective actions.
Maintain audit-ready records including service reports, maintenance history, and CMMS data.

What we're looking for

5–8 years of experience in mechanical plant operations, HVAC service, critical cooling maintenance, or related uptime-critical environments.
1–3+ years of experience leading technicians, maintenance teams, or service providers in a live operational environment.
Strong knowledge of chilled water systems, cooling towers, pumps, CRAHs, AHUs, CDUs, and related controls platforms.
Experience managing vendors, maintenance programs, incident response, and service execution in 24x7 operations.
Familiarity with BMS, SCADA, DCIM, and CMMS tools.
Experience supporting commissioning, turnover, or operational acceptance of new or upgraded mechanical systems (preferred).
EPA Section 608 Certification, HVAC trade license, or mechanical certification (preferred).
OEM training on cooling systems or OSHA 30 certification (preferred).
