The Epic Senior Analyst, HIM joins the University of Miami Health System IT Department to lead a team of Associate Epic Analysts and Epic Analysts. This role involves initiating the design, development, implementation, and maintenance of complex HIM applications while providing oversight to junior staff. Key responsibilities include optimizing application configurations, performing clinical work process analysis, validating workflow impacts, and serving as a primary support contact for end-users. The successful candidate will utilize Epic certificates in Hospital Coding Administration, Deficiency Tracking Administration, Release of Information Administration, and Identity. Required technical skills include the Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Word, PowerPoint, Project, Visio, and Excel. The role addresses clinical business needs by managing Chart Tracking, Release of Information, Deficiency Tracking, and Coding workflows within a healthcare environment.
Initiate the design, development, implementation, and maintenance of HIM applications.
Serve as the primary support contact for application end-users to resolve issues.
Perform analysis of information technology in clinical work processes and validate workflow impacts.
Lead all phases of testing and document workflow designs.
Provide oversight and leadership to Associate Epic Analysts and Epic Analysts on the team.
Support junior staff in resolving service tickets and executing day-to-day operations.
Collaborate with trainers to develop documentation and training strategies for new features.
Review project status and issues on an ongoing basis with leadership.
What we're looking for
Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.
Epic certificates in Hospital Coding Administration, Deficiency Tracking Administration, Release of Information Administration, and Identity are required.
3-5 years of experience, preferably in a healthcare or healthcare-related organization.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite including Word, PowerPoint, Project, Visio, and Excel.
Previous operational, project management, and organizational skills.
Ability to work evenings, nights, and weekends as necessary.
Familiarity with HIM processes including Chart Tracking, Release of Information, Deficiency Tracking, and Coding (preferred).
Familiarity with transcription and scanning workflows, confidentiality guidelines, and MPI interfaces (preferred).
