The Environmental Safety and Health Associate Manager, Policies and Procedures is responsible for the governance, development, and lifecycle management of all ESH documentation and communications. This individual serves as the primary owner of policies, procedures, standards, work instructions, and related management system documents to ensure they are technically accurate and compliant with regulatory requirements. The role involves translating complex technical requirements into user-friendly content, interviewing subject matter experts, and managing cross-functional review cycles with legal, operations, and engineering teams. Key responsibilities include maintaining version control, coordinating communication rollouts, and ensuring compliance with OSHA, EPA, ISO 14001, and ISO 45001 frameworks. The candidate will utilize tools like Confluence, Box, and Microsoft Office to manage documentation for the company’s defense technology operations, specifically addressing requirements within manufacturing or energetics regulated environments.
Manage the full lifecycle of ESH documentation including policies, procedures, standards, and work instructions.
Translate complex technical and regulatory requirements into clear, user-friendly documentation for employees.
Lead technical writing efforts by interviewing subject matter experts to capture operational processes.
Develop supporting materials such as job aids, FAQs, and training guides.
Coordinate cross-functional review and approval cycles with Legal, Operations, Engineering, and other stakeholders.
Create communication and rollout strategies for new ESH programs in partnership with Corporate Communications.
Maintain document governance by managing version control, review schedules, and compliance audits.
Monitor documentation effectiveness and update content based on regulatory changes or internal incidents.
What we're looking for
Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Safety, Industrial Hygiene, Technical Communications, English, Engineering, Communications, or a related field.
5+ years of experience in technical writing, document management, ESH, quality systems, regulated industries, or a related discipline.
Experience supporting Environmental, Health & Safety management systems.
Knowledge of OSHA, EPA, ISO 14001, ISO 45001, or similar regulatory and management system frameworks.
Demonstrated experience writing technical policies, procedures, and management system documentation.
Experience coordinating cross-functional document review and approval processes.
Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
Strong project management, organizational skills, and excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
