As an Engineering Technican 5 within the Global Products Group, you will support the design, test, modification, and assembly of electro-mechanical systems, experimental design circuitry, and specialized test equipment. Your daily responsibilities involve performing system and component level troubleshooting for electrical and mechanical subsystems while conducting fault isolation to remedy malfunctions. You will interpret schematics, diagrams, and layouts to inspect materials for surface defects and measure circuitry using precision measuring instruments, microscopes, oscilloscopes, signal generators, and other specialized test apparatus. Collaborating with development engineers, you will also work on prototypes and models. The role requires proficiency in computer-based data systems and Microsoft Office software. This position focuses on the technical challenges of etch and deposition products within the semiconductor industry, requiring expertise in electrical or mechanical engineering and metrology.

What you'll do

Perform testing, check-out, and troubleshooting using schematics, diagrams, and defined plans.
Troubleshoot system-level and component-level problems in electrical and mechanical systems.
Inspect materials and components for surface defects and measure circuitry using precision instruments.
Conduct operational tests and fault isolation to determine methods to remedy malfunctions.
Utilize diagnostic equipment including oscilloscopes, signal generators, and specialized test apparatus.
Assist development engineers in creating, designing, and troubleshooting prototypes and models.

What we're looking for

6+ years of related experience.
Experience in installation, maintenance, repair, testing, or troubleshooting of equipment or electronics.
Proficiency in using electronic test equipment, oscilloscopes, signal generators, and precision measuring instruments.
Ability to interpret schematics, diagrams, and descriptions for fault isolation and troubleshooting.
Effective written and verbal communication skills in English.
Proficiency in computer-based data systems and Microsoft Office software.
Availability to work a shift schedule.
Associate degree, Technical Certificate, or Diploma in a technical field is preferred.
