What you'll do

Lead hiring efforts to recruit, interview, and onboard new engineers for the data team.
Own the data charter and roadmap for models, ETL pipelines, and analytics.
Transform inherited systems into a coherent platform strategy for data integrations and APIs.
Guide end-to-end technical decisions regarding data modeling, ingestion, and serving.
Define and maintain data quality standards, including SLOs and data contracts.
Partner with product and leadership teams to align data priorities with business goals.
Ensure the data layer is correct, fresh, and observable for AI agents and product areas.

What we're looking for

Experience managing engineering teams building data platforms, pipelines, or high-scale backend systems.
Experience working in high-growth environments.
Strong hiring instincts to source, close, and ramp strong engineers.
Technical depth in PostgreSQL at scale, ClickHouse or similar OLAP systems, CDC and event streaming, ETL orchestration, or data modeling.
Ability to operate in ambiguity and establish roadmaps and conventions for new teams.
