The Electrical Simulation CAE Engineer joins the Electrical Simulation CAE Team within Hardware Engineering to develop and implement workflows that ensure electrical and electromagnetic simulations are conducted with speed, efficiency, and precision. This role involves creating end-to-end modeling solutions, providing application support, and scaling tools for signal integrity, power integrity, EMI/EMC, magnetics, and electromagnetics. The engineer will partner with vendors and internal teams to deploy workflows on internal platforms while integrating AI and ML techniques to facilitate rapid design iterations and trade-off studies. Key technical requirements include proficiency in tools such as Ansys HFSS, SIwave, Q3D, Maxwell, CST Studio Suite, Keysight ADS, Cadence Clarity/Sigrity, or COMSOL, alongside experience with scripting languages like Python, MATLAB, and TCL. The role addresses the critical need for accurate simulation data to inform design decisions for new technologies.
Create electrical simulation workflows for SI, PI, EMI/EMC, and magnetics to improve design speed and precision.
Partner with EDA and EM tool vendors to deploy and scale simulation workflows on internal platforms.
Implement AI and ML techniques into electrical simulation workflows to enable rapid trade-off studies.
Develop tools to convert and analyze electrical model data, S-parameters, and field solver outputs.
Provide application support, training, and documentation for internal electrical simulation tools across various projects.
Identify tool or workflow gaps by collaborating with cross-functional engineering teams to develop solutions.
Manage and support HPC job submission workflows to ensure simulations run efficiently at scale.
What we're looking for
Master's degree in Electrical Engineering (PhD preferred).
2+ years of hands-on experience in simulation workflow development.
Experience with AI/ML theory and the use of LLMs.
Proficiency with electrical and electromagnetic simulation tools like Ansys HFSS, SIwave, Q3D, Maxwell, CST Studio Suite, Keysight ADS, Cadence Clarity/Sigrity, or COMSOL.
Familiarity with scripting languages such as Python, MATLAB, or TCL for automation and workflow processes.
Strong understanding of electrical simulation workflows including schematic, layout, CAD, and analysis.
Deep knowledge of electromagnetics, magnetics, RF, and multi-physics simulations.
Knowledge of 3D electromagnetic modeling, full-wave solvers, and finite element analysis methods.
