Distinguished Engineer, Java / AWS

What you'll do

• Lead the Zelle journey to the cloud by driving best practices and technology decisions.
• Design and enhance complex, large-scale enterprise systems and infrastructure architecture.
• Build and deliver scaling solutions in collaboration with Data, Architecture, and Operations teams.
• Maintain project estimates, roadmaps, and high-level collaborative design content for leadership.
• Ensure software development follows quality guidelines, CI/CD practices, and security policies.
• Identify opportunities to ship value to production in quick, incremental chunks.
• Coach team members and participate in hiring top talent to support large-scale efforts.
• Keep executive-level management informed of department progress, problems, and milestones.

What we're looking for

• Candidates must independently possess the eligibility to work in the United States for any employer.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Information Systems, Information Technology, Information Systems, Computer Science, or equivalent professional experience.
• 15+ years of software engineering experience.
• 10+ years of experience leading technology initiatives or processes.
• 5+ years of experience working with large-scale cloud systems and building application solutions using containerization, CI/CD, and automated testing.
• Demonstrated ability to provide technical leadership through large-scale system designs, upgrades, and releases.
• Experience with large-scale enterprises scaling out operations in Amazon Web Services (preferred).
• Experience with migrating application and data services from on-prem to Cloud (preferred).
