Senior Staff Engineer, Java / SpringBoot / AWS

What you'll do

• Own the technical strategy for complex requirements and solve large open-ended problems.
• Drive all aspects of technical architecture, design, prototyping, and implementation.
• Define department-wide design patterns and code approaches.
• Review and validate the effectiveness of code output from multiple teams.
• Lead a broad functional area and direct the efforts of functional team members.
• Develop and implement tests to ensure application quality, performance, and scalability.
• Mentor other engineers and serve as a technical leader for cross-functional projects.
• Assist support and operations teams in identifying and resolving production issues.

What we're looking for

• Candidates must independently possess the eligibility to work in the United States for any employer.
• A Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related technical field is typically required.
• Twelve or more years of relevant related experience is required.
• Nine or more years of experience in the development of distributed systems, SaaS, cloud solutions, and microservices is required.
• Eight or more years of work experience with Java/Spring and proficiency in Maven/Gradle is required.
• Required experience includes hands-on Docker, scalable systems, event-driven architecture (Kafka, RabbitMQ), and cloud infrastructure (GCP, AWS, or Azure).
• Knowledge of mature engineering practices (CI/CD, testing, secure coding) and SDLC methodologies (Agile, Scrum, LEAN) is required.
• Preferred qualifications include AWS architecture, Aurora/PostgreSQL/MySQL, monitoring systems (AppDynamics/Grafana), and FinTech experience.
