As a Director, Software Engineering - Risk Tech, you will join the Enterprise Risk Management tech team to modernize risk management practices by transitioning from manual to automated processes. You will lead, manage, and grow multiple product-focused software engineering teams, mentoring engineers while collaborating with product managers to design and support technical solutions. Your daily responsibilities include breaking down monolithic applications into microservice architectures, improving software engineering practices, and leading deployments into AWS environments. You will utilize a diverse technology stack including node.js, Java, GO, AngularJS, React, Python, REST, JSON, XML, Ruby, Perl, NoSQL, relational databases, Spark, Artifactory, Maven, iOS, Android, and AWS/Cloud Infrastructure. This role focuses on transforming Governance, Risk and Compliance products to support core business needs through scalable, resilient, and high-availability systems.

What you'll do

Lead, manage, and grow multiple teams of product-focused software engineers.
Mentor and guide the professional and technical development of engineers on your team.
Work with product managers to define application capabilities and testing scenarios.
Design, develop, test, implement, and support technical solutions using full-stack tools.
Ensure the craftsmanship, availability, resilience, and scalability of all software solutions.
Break down existing monolithic applications into microservice architectures.
Lead efforts to deploy new and existing applications into AWS environments.
Continuously improve software engineering practices and team velocity across the organization.

What we're looking for

At least 7 years of experience in software engineering.
At least 5 years of experience in people management.
Master’s Degree in Computer Science or Master’s Degree in Software Engineering (preferred).
10+ years of experience in software engineering (preferred).
5+ years of experience in Agile practices (preferred).
Experience leveraging interactive AI tooling to accelerate productivity (preferred).
Experience with technologies including Java, Node.js, Go, Python, AWS, and microservices.
