Director of Software Engineering, Quality, Insights, and Delivery

What you'll do

• Define and execute comprehensive quality and insights strategies for Maps software platforms.
• Manage and grow multi-tiered engineering organizations including managers, architects, and automation engineers.
• Establish advanced automated testing pipelines and cross-platform testing solutions.
• Lead deep-dive investigations into system bottlenecks, performance measurements, and transaction correctness.
• Package Maps and related SDKs across iOS, macOS, watchOS, tvOS, and visionOS.
• Create a monetization-centric quality roadmap and deliver scalable testing and metrics frameworks.
• Build automated telemetry and real-world monitoring platforms to identify software regressions.
• Partner with cross-functional teams to establish quality gates and align on engineering priorities.

What we're looking for

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent experience.
• 12+ years of professional software engineering and quality assurance experience.
• 6+ years of engineering leadership as a Director with experience managing other managers in consumer software or mobile platforms.
• Proven track record driving quality and performance engineering for consumer products with millions of active users.
• Solid foundation in core performance metrics including latency, memory, CPU/GPU profiling, concurrency, battery life, and network throughput.
• Experience driving continuous automated testing and quality gates integrated into modern Agile/DevOps CI/CD delivery pipelines.
• Master’s degree or PhD in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field (preferred).
• Direct experience with Native operating systems (iOS, macOS), embedded devices, or real-time media/graphics runtimes (preferred).
