The Director, Software Engineering will provide technical and operational leadership for the Studio 360 product team. This role involves owning the technical strategy and execution to deliver high-quality features for financial automation. Key responsibilities include managing a team of Frontend and Backend Engineers, Scrum Masters, and Managers while overseeing the development of platform capabilities, SaaS-based components, and APIs. The successful candidate will champion engineering excellence by managing KPIs for quality, predictability, flow, and velocity. Required technical skills include experience with C#, C++, Java, Python, or Go, along with knowledge of .NET, Node, JavaScript, MSSQL, and SOAP/REST. The role addresses complex challenges in developer productivity, quality assurance, and delivery velocity within a high-volume, distributed environment using Agile methodologies, CI/CD concepts, and cloud-based initiatives.
Own the technical strategy and execution for the Studio 360 product.
Manage KPIs for engineering quality, predictability, flow, and delivery velocity.
Partner with product management and design to define the long-term roadmap.
Manage a multi-disciplinary team of engineers, scrum masters, and managers.
Develop and mentor the next generation of engineering talent and leadership.
Drive adoption of best practices in code health, architecture, and CI/CD.
Oversee the development of platform capabilities, SaaS components, and APIs.
Partner with Technical Operations to ensure platform availability and incident management.
What we're looking for
Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related discipline, or equivalent experience.
8 or more years of experience managing software engineering teams, internal infrastructure, developer tools, or distributed computing infrastructure.
3 or more years of direct Engineering Management or DevOps experience, including continuous builds, deployments, and performance monitoring.
5 or more years of direct experience in Agile Methodologies, processes, and best practices.
7 or more years of recent experience in supervisory positions, directing and managing employees directly or through subordinate management staff.
Recent experience in a director-level role overseeing software engineering in large-scale organizations focused on Web Applications/SaaS.
Prior hands-on technical experience with C# (preferred), C++, Java, Python, Go, or equivalent languages.
Minimum of 5 years of experience with technologies including HTML, CSS, XML, SOAP/REST, Node, JavaScript, IIS, MSSQL, ADFS, PowerShell, WMI, Java, Apache, Tomcat, SSL, or Go.
