Director, Engineering, Cloud Observability

What you'll do

• Own engineering for all cloud observability products across major hyperscalers and regional providers.
• Manage a large organization of approximately 40 engineers through a layer of Engineering Managers.
• Shape the product roadmap and strategy in collaboration with leadership rather than just executing tasks.
• Drive AI adoption across engineering workflows, tools, and core product features.
• Navigate complex cross-team dependencies across various internal platforms and infrastructure teams.
• Recruit, mentor, and retain engineering talent across multiple global office locations.
• Manage high-throughput, data-intensive backend systems processing millions of metric points per second.

What we're looking for

• You must have experience directly managing Engineering Managers in a manager-of-managers capacity.
• You must have deep experience with one or more cloud providers and operating large-scale systems in the cloud.
• You must have a solid understanding of cloud economics and balancing performance with cost.
• You must have experience working with large-scale, event-driven, or data-intensive backend systems like high-throughput APIs or time-series data.
• You must demonstrate an ability to integrate AI into engineering workflows, tools, and product features as a core practice.
• You must have a track record of shaping product decisions and strategy rather than just executing against specifications.
• You must be comfortable operating in English within a cross-Atlantic organization.
• You must be based in New York, Boston, or Paris.
