Director, Automation & Tools, Camera & Photos

What you'll do

• Lead the strategy and execution of automation for the Camera & Photos engineering organization.
• Build tools that reduce manual effort while increasing test coverage and system reliability.
• Drive the adoption of agentic AI systems for test creation, debugging, and workflow orchestration.
• Scale CI/CD systems to support complex imaging pipelines and hardware/software integration.
• Establish metrics and feedback loops to continuously improve engineering quality and efficiency.
• Hire, mentor, and grow a team of engineers focused on automation, infrastructure, and AI tooling.

What we're looking for

• 10+ years of experience in software engineering, automation, or developer productivity tooling.
• 8+ years of engineering leadership experience, including 3+ years managing managers and senior managers as a Director.
• Strong background in test automation, CI/CD systems, or large-scale developer infrastructure.
• Track record of improving engineering velocity and product quality at scale.
• Deep understanding of software development lifecycles in complex, cross-functional environments.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence senior technical and product leaders.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent experience.
• Experience with imaging systems, camera pipelines, or media processing workflows (preferred).
