The Director, Architecture oversees the architecture of distributed systems and applications within a cloud environment utilizing Amazon Web Services and Azure technologies. This role involves directing the implementation of CI/CD pipelines using Maven and Git while developing web applications with CSS, Java, and HTML. The position focuses on managing microservices architecture, infrastructure, data architecture, and security through API protocols. Key responsibilities include designing complex software systems, leading organization-wide initiatives, and providing technical supervision to multiple teams. The role requires expertise in domain-driven design for REST and SOAP APIs using Java and C# (.Net), as well as experience with mainframe modernization, Docker, Kubernetes, and Elastic Kubernetes Service. Additionally, the candidate will build event-driven applications using Kafka, AWS SQS, Lambda functions, and DROOLS/ODM to handle high-volume workloads related to trading and money movement.
Oversee the architecture of distributed systems and applications in AWS and Azure cloud environments.
Direct the implementation of CI/CD pipelines using Maven and Git for automated testing.
Develop web applications and manage microservices using Java, CSS, and HTML.
Design and engineer multi-cloud platforms using Docker, Kubernetes, and Elastic Kubernetes Service.
Architect event-driven applications with high-volume workloads using Kafka, AWS SQS, and Lambda functions.
Lead mainframe modernization initiatives by refactoring legacy systems into modern distributed tech stacks.
Create APIs and microservices in REST and SOAP formats following strict security and regulatory guidelines.
Define technical strategy and select technologies that align with enterprise standards and business goals.
What we're looking for
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, or a related field and six years of experience as a Director, Architecture.
Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, or a related field and four years of experience as a Director, Architecture.
Experience developing distributed applications within a financial services environment supporting workplace investment and benefits programs.
Expertise using domain driven design to create REST and SOAP APIs and microservices using Java and C# (.Net).
Experience in large scale mainframe modernization initiatives including re-platforming, refactoring, and data strategy.
Experience architecting multi-cloud platforms on Docker, Kubernetes, EKS, and AKS for AWS and Azure environments.
Expertise designing event driven applications with high-volume workloads using Kafka, AWS SQS, and Lambda functions.
Experience designing rules engines to abstract business logic using DROOLS/ODM.
