The Architecture & Design Director - Digital Products leads a team of Solution and System Architects to oversee solution architecture, system architecture, UI/UX, and AI/agentic orchestration design. This leader ensures all critical initiatives deliver consistent, interoperable, and scalable designs aligned with enterprise strategy. Day-to-day responsibilities include coaching staff, driving recruitment, managing architectural reviews, and defining standards for patterns and guardrails. The role requires expertise in user-centered design processes, APIs, microservices, and data platform interfaces. Key technical competencies include Agile, DevOps, CI/CD, automated testing, and secure coding practices. The position solves the business problem of ensuring end-to-end coherence across multiple projects while reducing technical debt and improving software performance, reliability, and security within a complex enterprise environment.
Lead and coach a team of architects to ensure projects align with organizational goals and design standards.
Define and evolve architecture standards, patterns, and guardrails for solution, system, UI/UX, and AI designs.
Provide strategic guidance to senior leadership on technology direction, architectural risks, and long-term scalability.
Manage architectural reviews and technical decision-making processes across multiple projects and value streams.
Ensure all solutions meet business objectives through architecture principles, security by design, and user experience.
Evaluate and guide the adoption of emerging technologies to reduce technical debt and improve operational efficiency.
Establish and govern architecture decision frameworks to ensure consistency and transparency across the enterprise.
What we're looking for
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Management Information Systems, Engineering, Business, or a related computer-related field required.
Twelve or more years of diversified IT experience required.
Five or more years of experience directly managing professional staff required.
Experience leading architecture reviews and making technical decisions across multiple projects required.
Experience in developing user-centered design processes required.
Five or more years of experience in enterprise architecture, including defining and enforcing architecture principles and standards (preferred).
Deep understanding of Agile, DevOps, CI/CD, and automated testing (preferred).
ITIL®, TOGAF®, Agile, SAFe®, PMI®, Organization Change Management, and Lean Six Sigma certifications (preferred).
