Director, Applied Science (Responsible AI/Multimodal) leads the Responsible AI Applied Science team to develop technical strategies for building next-generation technologies that enable customers to safely deploy multimodal generative AI models and agentic systems. This leader manages a team of applied scientists to build guardrails for models reasoning across text, images, audio, and video. What we're looking for
PhD in Computer Science, Machine Learning, Artificial Intelligence, or a related technical field, or equivalent research and industry experience.
10+ years of experience.
Significant experience leading applied science or machine learning research teams on complex, ambiguous technical problems.
Deep expertise in machine learning, generative AI, NLP, computer vision, multimodal learning, or related areas with familiarity with modern foundation models.
Demonstrated ability to translate research innovations into production systems or customer-facing technologies.
Strong scientific track record through publications, patents, deployed technologies, or other significant technical contributions.
Experience defining research roadmaps and making investment and prioritization decisions across multiple scientific areas.
Expertise in Responsible AI areas such as multimodal safety, guardrails, adversarial robustness, or agent safety (preferred).
