Director, Applied Science

What you'll do

• Direct end-to-end applied research programs including surveying state-of-the-art technology, preparing datasets, and running experiments.
• Design, train, and optimize machine learning models, large language models, and generative AI solution architectures.
• Define and implement standards for research proofs-of-concept, data selection, and model evaluation best practices.
• Lead the publication of research findings in top-tier conferences and serve as a keynote speaker.
• Oversee multiple teams to manage complex projects, monitoring timelines, deliverables, and strategic objectives.
• Drive cross-functional partnerships to ensure the successful deployment of AI solutions into production environments.
• Create technical documentation, patents, and white papers related to applied research outcomes.
• Coach team members on technical skills, problem-solving strategies, and performance management.

What we're looking for

• Must have 10+ years of relevant experience.
• Must be able to read, write, and speak English.
• Must be able to direct end-to-end applied research programs including surveying state-of-the-art technologies and preparing high-quality datasets.
• Must be able to design, train, and optimize ML/AI models and solution architectures.
• Must be able to lead the publication and presentation of research findings in top-tier conferences and industry outlets.

• Must be able to coach team members on technical skills, performance management, and professional development.
