As a Design Engineering Specialist – Motors & Generators, you will join the Medium Voltage Rotating Components team within the Integrated Drivetrain Energy Solutions division. You will be responsible for the end-to-end design and development of rotating electrical components, specifically motors and generators, for various applications. Your daily work involves acting as a product design owner, developing optimized concepts, managing supply chain materials and costs, and collaborating with suppliers through Development Agreements. You will also lead quality initiatives using PPAP and APQP rigor while coordinating with machine businesses on NPI and NTI programs. To succeed, you must possess expertise in the manufacturing product development life cycle, design for manufacturing methodologies, project management, and technical troubleshooting. This role focuses on the critical engineering challenges of advanced electrified powertrains and zero-emissions technologies within the electric drive sector.

What you'll do

  • Serve as the primary design owner for motors and generators.
  • Develop and optimize design concepts for rotating electrical components.
  • Manage supplier relationships through potential Development Agreements.
  • Lead quality initiatives using PPAP and APQP methodologies.
  • Implement product improvements based on feedback from the field.
  • Coordinate with machine business units on NPI and NTI programs.
  • Manage supply chain ownership of materials and costs.
  • Resolve technical problems within manufacturing and product development environments.

What we're looking for

  • Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Engineering or a related discipline.
  • Mechanical or Electrical engineering degree (preferred).
  • Extensive experience and knowledge of the product development life cycle in manufacturing organizations.
  • Extensive experience and knowledge of design for manufacturing processes and methodologies.
  • Extensive experience and understanding of effective communication concepts, tools, and techniques.
  • Extensive experience and knowledge of project management strategies and tactics.
  • Extensive experience and knowledge of troubleshooting approaches, tools, and techniques.
