The Database Administrator (DBA II) (Government) joins a small database administration team supporting Public Sector Solutions. What you'll do

  • Create, maintain, and troubleshoot Microsoft SQL Server and MariaDB databases across multiple architectures.
  • Manage database instances hosted in both on-premise datacenters and cloud environments.
  • Perform regular patching and troubleshooting for database-related issues.
  • Manage database indexes and optimize overall system performance.
  • Execute and oversee database backup and recovery processes.
  • Automate repetitive database tasks using PowerShell or Python scripting.
  • Support database operations within AWS cloud technologies, specifically RDS.
  • Monitor and manage Windows Event Log Filtering and Task Scheduler setups.

What we're looking for

  • TS/SCI clearance with polygraph is required.
  • Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline from an accredited college or university is required.
  • Ten years of experience as a DBA in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity is required.
  • Four years of additional DBA experience may be substituted for a bachelor's degree.
  • Compliance with DOD 8570.01-M with a minimum certification of IAT Level II is required.
  • Demonstrable experience supporting MS SQL, MariaDB, and/or Oracle databases is required.
  • Experience with index and performance management, troubleshooting instances and applications, and backup and recovery processes is required.
  • Knowledge of AWS services, PowerShell/Python scripting, Commvault, SQL Server AlwaysOn, and SharePoint is preferred.
