JOB TITLE: Senior Database Analyst / Administrator
The Senior Database Analyst / Administrator joins the Mission Support Systems Division to support mission-critical applications for the Administrative Office of the US Courts. Working within an Agile framework using the Scaled Agile Framework, this role involves developing operating standards for performance, security, and scalability. Key responsibilities include gathering business requirements, designing dimensional data models like star and snowflake schemas, and developing stored procedures, views, and tables. The candidate will deploy ETL packages via CI/CD pipelines, manage data migrations from legacy systems to multi-cloud platforms, and create dashboards in Splunk. Required technical skills include proficiency with Microsoft SQL Server, Informix, and Oracle, alongside expertise in data warehousing, relational data modeling, and business intelligence. The role solves complex data integration and analysis problems for federal court community systems.
Develop stored procedures, jobs, views, tables, and other database objects in SQL Server Management Studio.
Design and develop dimensional data models including star and snowflake schemas, fact tables, and enterprise data marts.
Develop and deploy ETL packages using CI/CD pipelines and core configuration management systems for version control.
Collect and interpret large datasets using advanced statistical analysis, data mining, and predictive modeling techniques.
Create data visualizations and dashboards to track key performance indicators and critical program outcomes.
Index system and application logs in Splunk to create dashboards, alerts, and reports.
Perform data validation to ensure accuracy and integrity while hosting peer reviews of team code.
Map business requirements to technical requirements by collaborating with Product Owners and agency stakeholders.
What we're looking for
At least 7 years of experience in server database maintenance and database analysis or a similar role.
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Programming, Computer Engineering, or a relevant computer-based major (experience may be considered in lieu of degree).
Database or cloud certification such as Microsoft Certified Azure Database Administrator Associate or Microsoft Azure Solutions Architect Expert (preferred).
Proficient experience with databases such as Microsoft SQL Server, Informix, and Oracle.
Experience with database environment installation, configuration, and ongoing administration support.
Demonstrated understanding of standard data warehouse concepts, data modeling, data mapping, data flow diagrams, and data marts.
Experience architecting and implementing cloud-based database solutions and migrating data from legacy on-premises systems to multi-cloud or hybrid platforms.
Experience with Snowflake, Azure cloud platform, and creating database reports, visualizations, and dashboards (preferred).
