Data Software Engineer

What you'll do

• Design, develop, and maintain Java and Scala-based backend applications for regulatory reporting workflows.
• Translate technical and business requirements into scalable software solutions.
• Build and support data processing and ETL workflows for large volumes of trading and market data.
• Troubleshoot production issues and implement durable, long-term fixes across distributed data platforms.
• Deliver high-quality solutions using cloud and big data technologies.
• Manage data ingestion, transformation, and delivery processes.

What we're looking for

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 2+ years of software development experience with strong programming skills in Scala and/or Java.
• Experience developing backend services, data-intensive applications, or ETL/data processing solutions.
• Experience working in SQL and Linux/Unix environments, including scripting and troubleshooting.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to navigate ambiguous requirements and collaborate with technical stakeholders.
• Experience with large-scale data processing technologies and cloud platforms, particularly AWS (preferred).
• Experience with Apache Spark, Amazon EMR, Hadoop, or other big data technologies (preferred).
• Familiarity with AI-assisted development tools, financial markets, or regulatory reporting environments (preferred).
