The Data Governance and Stewardship Lead joins the JJMT Electrophysiology team to develop, operationalize, and validate a data governance framework mapping usage and access restrictions to internal inventory. This role involves implementing policy controls, designing automation workflows for governed holdings, and managing business glossaries, data lineage, and integration activities. The individual will collaborate with multi-functional teams to define data ownership and permitted uses while co-leading audit workflows and performance metrics to measure compliance and quality. Key technical requirements include experience with cloud technologies, data governance tools, and analytics platforms to manage preclinical, clinical, and commercial assets. The role addresses the challenge of ensuring high-quality, compliant data access in a highly regulated environment, specifically supporting patient safety, product development, and operational decision-making within the medtech and electrophysiology domain.
Implement and operationalize data usage policies, access controls, and stewardship requirements across data inventory assets.
Design and improve data governance programs to ensure high-quality and compliant data access.
Develop automation workflows that apply data access and usage policies to governed holdings.
Conduct trade studies and technical evaluations for data governance tooling and scalable implementation models.
Maintain business glossaries, data lineage, and other core data management activities.
Partner with multi-functional teams to define data ownership, permitted uses, and access requirements.
Co-lead the implementation of audit workflows and performance metrics to measure compliance and quality.
Coach junior colleagues on governance processes, techniques, and operational expectations.
What we're looking for
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in data science, Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Life Sciences, Biomedical Engineering, or a related field.
At least 3 years of experience in data governance within a highly regulated industry.
Experience with data governance technologies to support stewardship, data quality, lineage, and access management.
Experience using cloud technologies to build, optimize, and govern data platforms, pipelines, and analytics environments.
Ability to collaborate with business, technical, and compliance teams to translate requirements into scalable processes.
Strong written and verbal communication skills to present technical concepts to multi-functional customers.
Experience in MedTech, healthcare, life sciences, clinical research, medical safety, quality, regulatory, or product development environments (preferred).
Familiarity with data catalog, metadata management, data quality, access management, workflow automation, or analytics platforms (preferred).
