Data Center IT Engineer

What you'll do

• Rack and install servers, storage devices, networking gear, and other data center equipment in production environments.
• Configure and provision server hardware, network devices, and infrastructure components for system administrator use.
• Manage site operations including capacity planning, rack layouts, and physical cabling for power and cooling.
• Troubleshoot and resolve hardware issues while providing detailed reports to management and administrators.
• Manage local vendors for procurement, installation tasks, and equipment remediation.
• Oversee inventory tracking, RMA processes, and end-of-life disposal for all site hardware.
• Perform fiber and copper testing, including troubleshooting connections and ensuring proper cable cleaning.
• Participate in a 24x7x365 on-call rotation to provide emergency support for data center issues.

What we're looking for

• Must have a Bachelor's degree with 1+ years of IT experience, or a High School diploma with 3+ years of IT experience.
• Must possess 3+ years of IT-related work experience if holding a non-technical Bachelor's degree.
• Experience in structured cabling environments and knowledge of 10/40/100g patching is required.
• Proficiency in VFL, basic fiber troubleshooting, and proper fiber end-face cleaning procedures is required.
• Ability to perform hardware installation, configuration, and troubleshooting for servers, networking gear, and storage equipment.
• Knowledge of Commscope iMvision Data Base (preferred).
• Must be able to lift and install equipment weighing up to 50 lbs.
• Must be available for travel as needed and participate in a 24x7x365 on-call support rotation.
