Critical Environment Operating Engineer

What you'll do

• Operate and maintain critical building systems including UPS, generators, cooling units, and medium-voltage electrical infrastructure to ensure 100% uptime.
• Monitor and adjust refrigeration, chilled water, air conditioning equipment, boilers, pumps, valves, and piping for optimal performance.
• Record equipment readings and analyze system operations to identify malfunctions and perform immediate corrective actions.
• Manage work orders through a CMMS and coordinate with vendors to resolve customer-facing tickets.
• Respond to site emergencies and follow escalation procedures to protect critical infrastructure.
• Maintain safe storage and disposal of hazardous materials while ensuring the workplace meets all safety standards.

What we're looking for

• Must have at least 2 years of hands-on experience in a data center or critical facility environment.
• Must have demonstrated experience with mission-critical systems including UPS, emergency generators, switchgear, and power distribution.
• Must possess strong verbal and written communication skills to document activities and communicate technical information.
• Must have working knowledge of MS Office, Google Suite, and computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS).
• Must be able to lift 50 lbs, climb ladders up to 30 feet, and work at heights or on rooftops.
• Must be available to work different schedules including holidays and respond to site emergencies as needed.
• Preferred experience includes using the Corrigo system and holding Universal EPA 608 certification.
• Preferred qualifications include NFPA 70E training and experience with building automation systems (BAS).
