As a Critical Environment Energy Marshal within the Cloud Operations & Innovation team, you will play a vital role in maintaining the core infrastructure and foundational technologies for critical cloud services. Your daily work involves executing Lockout Tagout procedures, coordinating energy isolation activities with engineering and construction teams, and participating in High-Risk Activity planning meetings to identify risks. You will review SOWs, SOPs, and MOPs while verifying that personnel meet all safety and training requirements. The role requires expertise in electrical theory, reading electrical one-lines, and understanding MEP systems. Key skills include managing building management systems, interpreting construction drawings, and ensuring adherence to local regulations and safety standards within a mission-critical datacenter environment.

What you'll do

  • Implement and ensure compliance of Microsoft's Energy Isolation Program across assigned sites.
  • Execute Lockout Tagout (LOTO) procedures and verify that all documentation is accurate.
  • Coordinate energy isolation activities while communicating updates to relevant stakeholders in a timely manner.
  • Participate in High-Risk Activity (HRA) planning meetings to identify safety requirements and risks.
  • Review SOWs, SOPs, and MOPs to ensure all energy sources are identified before work begins.
  • Verify that all personnel have completed required training, qualifications, and PPE requirements.
  • Maintain accurate records of activities and prepare program metrics and compliance reports.
  • Escalate procedural gaps or safety concerns to senior management and engineering teams.

What we're looking for

  • A Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field and 1+ year of technical engineering experience.
  • A Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field and 2+ years of technical engineering experience.
  • Equivalent experience to the specified educational and experience requirements.
  • Ability to pass Microsoft Cloud background checks and Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) screenings.
  • Must provide verification of United States citizenship via a valid passport.
  • Experience in critical environments, industrial facilities, construction, maintenance, or mission-critical operations.
  • Basic knowledge of Lockout Tagout (LOTO), energy isolation, or electrical safety practices.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical one-lines, equipment documentation, and construction drawings.
