As a Critical Environment Electrical Engineer within the Cloud Operations & Innovation team, you will support the core infrastructure and foundational technologies for essential online services. You will be responsible for designing, testing, and verifying electrical engineering aspects of well-defined features or product extensions. Your daily work involves creating technical documentation like schematics and diagrams, interpreting device specification sheets, and selecting appropriate components from supplier data. You will also develop test cases, manage hardware verification plans, utilize tools such as oscilloscopes and spectrum analyzers, and implement automated testing solutions. The role requires a mastery of electrical engineering principles to solve complex infrastructure challenges while ensuring robust, scalable designs. You must be proficient in analyzing statistical data to identify flaws and managing project implementation schedules to deliver high-quality hardware components for large-scale cloud service environments.
Create robust, scalable, and secure electrical engineering designs for product features and extensions.
Develop technical documentation including drawings, specifications, schematics, and diagrams for hardware products.
Select appropriate components by reviewing supplier technical sheets and interpreting device specification sheets.
Write design verification test cases and develop automated testing solutions for standard features.
Execute test plans and use specialized equipment like oscilloscopes and spectrum analyzers to measure product performance.
Analyze data and statistical results to identify flaws that could impact product design changes.
Manage project implementation schedules, track progress, and escalate risks or technical issues to management.
Document material details and component specifications through established release processes.
What we're looking for
Must have a Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field and at least 1 year of technical engineering experience.
Must have a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field and at least 2 years of technical engineering experience.
Must be a United States citizen for verification via a valid passport due to legal restrictions.
Must be able to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check every two years.
Must be able to meet specific government security screening requirements.
Ability to interpret device specification sheets and design documentation including drawings, schematics, and diagrams.
Ability to select appropriate test equipment such as oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, and logic analyzers.
U.S. citizenship due to citizenship-based legal restrictions.
