Critical Environment - Building Maintenance Technician As a Critical Environments Operating Engineer at JLL, you will maintain mission-critical data center infrastructure to ensure 100% uptime for vital operations. Your daily responsibilities involve recording equipment readings, identifying malfunctions, taking corrective actions, managing work orders through CMMS, and coordinating with vendors to resolve customer-facing tickets. You will also manage fire/life safety systems and ensure compliance with hazardous material protocols. Required skills include experience with critical facility infrastructure, proficiency in MS Office, Google Suite, and CMMS tools. Preferred qualifications include EPA 608 certification, NFPA 70E training, and experience with building automation systems or industrial controls to solve complex technical challenges within a high-stakes environment.

What you'll do

Operate and maintain critical building systems including UPS, generators, cooling units, and medium-voltage electrical infrastructure to ensure 100% uptime.
Monitor and adjust mechanical equipment such as boilers, pumps, valves, and piping for optimal performance.
Record equipment readings and analyze system operations to identify and correct malfunctions immediately.
Manage work orders through a CMMS while coordinating with vendors and responding to customer-facing tickets.
Follow emergency escalation procedures and respond to site emergencies to protect critical infrastructure.
Maintain safe storage and disposal of hazardous materials in compliance with safety standards.
Document activities and communicate technical information clearly to stakeholders.

What we're looking for

Must have at least 2 years of hands-on experience in a data center or critical facility environment.
Must have demonstrated experience with mission-critical systems including UPS, emergency generators, switchgear, and power distribution.
Must possess strong verbal and written communication skills to document activities and communicate technical information.
Must have working knowledge of MS Office, Google Suite, and computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS).
Must be able to lift at least 50 lbs and climb ladders up to 30 feet.
Must be physically able to work at heights, navigate rooftops, and perform tasks in large campus settings.
Must have the flexibility to work varying schedules, including holidays and emergency response shifts.
Must be authorized to work in the United States.
