CPU Architecture Performance Engineer

What you'll do

• Perform performance verification for custom CPUs used in mobile and portable computers.
• Verify performance features between RTL and models and troubleshoot discrepancies.
• Develop test cases to validate new CPU features with design and performance teams.
• Apply knowledge of CPU architecture components like fetch, decode, branch prediction, and caches.
• Execute tasks within RTL simulation and performance modeling environments.
• Utilize Verilog, C, C++, and scripting languages like Perl or Python for engineering tasks.
• Analyze common performance benchmarks and workloads to ensure CPU efficiency.

What we're looking for

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related field and 4+ years of relevant engineering experience.
• Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related field and 3+ years of relevant engineering experience.
• PhD in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related field and 2+ years of relevant engineering experience.
• Proficiency in CPU architecture areas such as fetch, decode, branch prediction, renaming, execute units, SIMD, load/store, MMU, caches, and retire.
• Ability to verify performance features between RTL and model and troubleshoot issues.
• Proficiency in Verilog, C, C++, and scripting languages such as Perl or Python (preferred).
• Experience working in RTL simulation and performance modeling environments (preferred).
• Knowledge of common performance benchmarks and workloads (preferred).
