What you'll do

Develop Flink user-defined functions to support complex customer use-cases in Confluent Cloud.
Design, develop, and operationalize user-facing interfaces and the underlying cloud infrastructure.
Collaborate with the Apache Flink community to establish standards and improve open-source foundations.
Lead the execution of software projects to deliver high-quality products into production environments.
Evaluate and enhance the platform's technology stack based on industry trends and state-of-the-art solutions.
Manage and maintain mission-critical services across multiple cloud regions with a 99.99% SLA.
Improve the stability, performance, scalability, and operational excellence of critical systems.

What we're looking for

Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related field (Master's degree preferred).
4+ years of relevant stream processing experience.
Strong fundamentals in distributed systems design and development.
Experience running production services in the cloud and participating in on-call rotations.
Proficiency in Java, with comfort working in Go and Python.
A strong background in distributed storage systems or databases (preferred).
Experience with public clouds (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and Kubernetes operators (preferred).
Contributions to open-source projects, especially in Flink or the stream processing area (preferred).
