What you'll do

Design, develop, and operationalize high-performance, scalable, and resilient systems for the Confluent Cloud network data plane.
Build software that optimizes performance, security, reliability, and cost for incoming and outgoing traffic in Kafka clusters.
Independently drive the execution of complex software projects to ensure high-quality production delivery.
Develop and integrate open-source software components to achieve specific business impacts.
Troubleshoot issues within a complex technical stack involving microservices, containers, and virtualization across three major clouds.
Manage and optimize network data planes for containerized workloads in cloud environments.

What we're looking for

High School Diploma or GED required; Bachelor's Degree preferred.
Education in computer science or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
5+ years of relevant cloud infrastructure and cloud networking experience.
Strong fundamentals in distributed systems design and development.
Experience building and operating large-scale systems.
Solid understanding of basic systems operations including disk, network, and operating systems.
Proficiency in C++, Go, Python, or other statically typed languages.
Experience with public clouds (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and Kubernetes networking (preferred); Envoy proxy and Linux kernel networking/eBPF (preferred).
