Senior Software Engineer II

What you'll do

• Architect and develop multi-tenant, high-availability cloud-native services for the Stream Governance platform.
• Lead the end-to-end design and implementation of complex backend microservices in a distributed environment.
• Manage mission-critical services with 99.99% SLA across multiple global cloud regions.
• Make critical architectural decisions balancing reliability, scalability, performance, and operability.
• Provide technical leadership by mentoring engineers through code reviews and design evaluations.
• Drive projects from initial requirements and design through to production rollout and operation.
• Evaluate and enhance the platform's technology stack to incorporate state-of-the-art solutions.
• Partner with cross-functional stakeholders to execute the roadmap for the Data Streaming Platform.

What we're looking for

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).
• Master's degree is preferred.
• 8+ years of industry experience designing, building, scaling, and operating backend systems in production.
• Deep proficiency in at least one major backend programming language such as Java, Go, C/C++, or Python.
• Hands-on experience with distributed systems, including event-driven architectures and large-scale data pipelines.
• Experience running production services in a public cloud (AWS, GCP, or Azure) using containerized workloads like Docker and Kubernetes.
• Proven experience leading technical teams, influencing architecture, and mentoring other engineers.
• Familiarity with data streaming technologies such as Apache Kafka or Flink (preferred).
