Cloud Subject Matter Expert

What you'll do

• Serve as the primary technical authority and design advisor for customer Kafka and Confluent Cloud platforms.
• Advise clients on optimizing data streaming architectures to improve performance, reliability, and business value.
• Design and review enterprise-grade event-driven architectures including topic design, schema strategy, and integration patterns.
• Proactively resolve operational issues related to production readiness, monitoring, capacity planning, and failure handling.
• Guide customers through security, access control, governance, and compliance requirements for platform usage.
• Deliver hands-on architecture reviews, technical workshops, and coaching to promote customer self-sufficiency.
• Lead incident response and root cause analysis while developing reusable patterns and product improvements.
• Create technical documentation and enablement content to improve team effectiveness and client independence.

What we're looking for

• Master's Degree (preferred).
• Act as a technical authority and design advisor for enterprise Kafka and Confluent Cloud platforms.
• Analyze and troubleshoot complex issues in distributed systems, including performance, reliability, and connectivity.
• Design and review event-driven architectures, production readiness, and operational management strategies.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver solutions and create technical documentation to promote client self-sufficiency.
• Proficiency with Kafka, Confluent Cloud, Kafka Streams, Apache Flink, Schema Registry, and Kafka Connect in enterprise environments (preferred).
• Experience delivering architecture reviews and workshops in regulated or highly controlled environments (preferred).
