Commissioning Manager
The Commissioning Manager joins the Engineering Procurement & Construction organization within the Cloud Operations and Innovation team to manage the end-to-end delivery of new data center capacity. This role involves coordinating with architects, engineers, construction managers, and operations teams to ensure projects are commissioned according to specific standards while meeting scope, schedule, and budget requirements. Day-to-day responsibilities include performing field inspections, managing contracted commissioning agents, developing procedures and scripts, and overseeing vendor performance through scorecard tracking. The candidate will utilize skills in Quality Assurance/Quality Control, project management, and technical engineering to solve complex infrastructure challenges for cloud services. Required expertise includes proficiency in MS Office and Teams, with a focus on construction site safety and oversight. The role addresses the critical business problem of streamlining multi-million-dollar data center construction programs across various regions.
Manage the end-to-end commissioning process for multi-million-dollar data center construction projects in the assigned metro.
Conduct on-site inspections to review Quality Assurance, Quality Control (QA/QC), and active testing processes.
Develop and maintain commissioning procedures, standards, and best practices to ensure cost-effective solutions.
Manage contracted Commissioning Agents and provide vendor oversight based on performance scorecards.
Track and report project progress regarding scope, schedule, and budget to senior management.
Coordinate with architects, engineers, and construction managers to align on project requirements and timelines.
Prepare Requests for Proposal (RFPs), expenditure reports, and other necessary project approval tools.
Develop long-term delivery strategies that incorporate technical requirements into project execution plans.
What we're looking for
A Doctorate degree in Engineering and 2+ years of experience, a Master's and 4+ years, or a Bachelor's and 5+ years of technical engineering experience.
Alternatively, the candidate must have at least 12 years of relevant technical engineering experience.
Ability to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check every two years.
Must be able to perform work in the field on a construction project.
Candidate must reside within 50 miles of the Cheyenne, WY metro area or relocate to that location.
Proficiency with MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and MS Teams.
Preferred certifications include OSHA 30, NFPA-70E, or Project Management Professional (PMP).
Preferred experience in Construction Quality Assurance/Quality Control (QA/QC) and developing commissioning scripts.
