Commissioning Manager
The Commissioning Manager joins the Engineering Procurement & Construction organization within the Cloud Operations and Innovation team to manage the end-to-end delivery of new data center capacity. This role involves overseeing multi-million-dollar, multi-year construction programs by coordinating with architects, engineers, and construction managers to ensure infrastructure meets specific standards. Day-to-day responsibilities include performing field inspections, managing contracted commissioning agents, developing commissioning procedures, and tracking project progress against scope, schedule, and budget. The role requires expertise in quality assurance, quality control, and the creation of detailed commissioning scripts. Candidates must possess a degree in mechanical, materials, reliability, or electrical engineering along with relevant technical experience. Key competencies include vendor management, contract compliance, and proficiency with MS Office and Teams to solve complex infrastructure challenges for large-scale cloud services.
Manage the end-to-end commissioning process for multi-million-dollar data center construction projects in the Pecos metro.
Conduct on-site inspections to review Quality Assurance and Quality Control (QA/QC) during the construction phase.
Oversee contracted Commissioning Agents and manage vendor performance using scorecard-driven metrics.
Develop, maintain, and refine commissioning procedures, standards, and best practices for project delivery.
Track and report project progress regarding scope, schedule, and budget to senior management.
Coordinate with architects, engineers, and construction managers to align on project goals and requirements.
Prepare Requests for Proposal (RFPs), expenditure reports, and other necessary project approval tools.
Develop commissioning scripts and manage the resolution of identified technical issues in the field.
What we're looking for
A Doctorate degree in Mechanical, Materials, Reliability, or Electrical Engineering and 2+ years of technical engineering experience.
A Master's degree in Mechanical, Materials, Reliability, or Electrical Engineering and 4+ years of technical engineering experience.
A Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Materials, Reliability, or Electrical Engineering and 5+ years of technical engineering experience.
At least 12 years of relevant technical engineering experience.
Ability to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check.
Must be able to perform work in the field on a construction project.
Must reside within 50 miles of Pecos, TX or relocate to that area.
Construction QA/QC, ability to write commissioning scripts, and MS Office proficiency (preferred); OSHA 30, NFPA-70E, or PMP certification (preferred).
