What you'll do

  • Serve as the technical authority for all fan and compressor rotating and static hardware components.
  • Manage the technical baseline including CAD models, drawings, and specifications from the inlet to the combustor interface.
  • Lead the design, analysis, and qualification of compression system components like blades, disks, and cases.
  • Oversee the development of inlet systems, flow paths, and compressor-combustor interfaces to ensure optimal performance.
  • Manage stall margin, operability risks, and stability for the compression system across all operating conditions.
  • Drive the hardware lifecycle from initial concept through detailed design, manufacturing, and final testing.
  • Lead cross-functional Integrated Product Teams to coordinate design, analysis, manufacturing, and supply chain activities.
  • Ensure all designs meet stringent requirements for aerodynamics, structural integrity, weight, cost, and manufacturability.

What we're looking for

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related engineering discipline; Master's degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in turbomachinery design engineering, preferably in gas turbine compression systems.
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in turbomachinery design engineering is desired for this role.
  • Must be a U.S. Person (U.S. Citizen, lawful permanent resident, asylee, or refugee) to access export-controlled information.
  • Must possess or be able to maintain a current U.S. Government Security Clearance.
  • Demonstrated experience in fan/compressor aerodynamic design, mechanical design, and compression system integration.
  • Proficiency with 3D CAD tools (such as Siemens NX or CATIA) and familiarity with PDM/PLM systems.
  • Proven ability to lead Integrated Product Teams (IPTs) and provide technical direction to engineering teams.
