What you'll do

Lead the conceptualization and detailed engineering of novel propulsion systems including engines, motors, and pumps.
Design and optimize critical mechanical components like gearboxes, actuators, and structural elements for extreme environments.
Perform advanced thermo-fluid and structural analyses using CFD, FEA, and thermodynamic modeling to validate system behavior.
Manage the fabrication, assembly, and rigorous testing of propulsion prototypes and key components.
Develop comprehensive test plans and perform root cause analysis on experimental data to refine designs.
Integrate propulsion and mechanical components into larger platforms while optimizing for manufacturability and scalability.

What we're looking for

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering.
3+ years of experience in propulsion system design, analysis, or high-performance mechanical component development.
Expertise in the design, analysis, and testing of propulsion systems such as electric motors, jet engines, or rocket engines.
Proficiency in CFD software like ANSYS Fluent or OpenFOAM and FEA tools like ANSYS or Nastran.
Skilled in detailed mechanical design using CAD software such as SolidWorks, CATIA, or NX.
Knowledge of GD&T, materials selection, and manufacturing processes for high-performance components.
Ability to plan and execute propulsion testing using data acquisition systems and instrumentation.
Eligible to obtain and maintain an active U.S. Top Secret security clearance.
