Cloud Data Engineer, AVP

What you'll do

• Design and develop scalable data and machine learning pipelines using Databricks and AWS services.
• Assess existing infrastructure to identify improvement opportunities and recommend cloud-based solutions.
• Build reusable, efficient data solutions and develop cost-effective cloud migration strategies.
• Define and document best practices for application deployment, cloud infrastructure, and production support.
• Migrate data engineering and machine learning applications to Databricks and AWS platforms.
• Develop proofs of concept to evaluate the feasibility and value of emerging technologies.
• Manage CI/CD pipelines and deployment automation for AWS-based solutions.
• Evaluate and support vendor products that contribute to the organization’s data and cloud capabilities.

What we're looking for

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Five or more years of experience in data engineering, including hands-on work with cloud technologies.
• Strong programming experience in Scala, Python, and/or Java for data engineering workloads.
• Strong understanding of Databricks architecture, including Data Engineering, Machine Learning, SQL warehouses, Medallion architecture, Delta Live Tables, and Unity Catalog.
• Strong knowledge of core AWS services, architecture best practices, and CI/CD pipelines for deployment automation.
• Strong knowledge of Apache Airflow for workflow orchestration.
• Experience migrating relational databases, Java and Python applications, machine learning model code, and Elasticsearch-based solutions.
• AWS and/or Databricks certification (preferred); experience with Docker and Kubernetes (preferred); knowledge of GenAI and Agentic AI (preferred).
