TL;DR · Characterization Product Development Engineer

As a Characterization Product Development Engineer on the Operations Product Development Engineering GPU Team, you will drive latest architecture designs to market for consumer, professional, and datacenter markets. You will implement chip probing test processes to improve manufacturing efficiency for GPUs built in leading-edge process technology while identifying and resolving yield bottlenecks. Your daily work involves analyzing test failures at the wafer and package levels on Automatic Test Equipment, proposing DOEs, and solving complex characterization problems through cross-functional leadership with design, foundry, DFT, and quality teams. You will influence future ASIC designs to improve test coverage and silicon bring-up. Required skills include circuit analysis, device physics, and statistical data analysis using JMP. Preferred technical expertise includes Advantest 93K testers, logic or SRAM characterization, and scripting in Python or Perl to solve complex silicon problems.

What you'll do

  • Implement chip probing test processes to improve manufacturing efficiency for latest GPUs.
  • Identify and resolve yield bottlenecks and analyze wafer or package level failures on ATE.
  • Propose DOEs and develop solutions to complex characterization problems.
  • Lead cross-functional efforts with design, foundry, and quality teams to root-cause technical issues.
  • Influence future ASIC designs to improve test coverage and product yield.
  • Perform silicon bring-up and manage product releases for consumer and datacenter markets.
  • Analyze statistical data using JMP or other tools to drive engineering decisions.

What we're looking for

  • Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience.
  • 2+ years of product development engineering or relevant experience.
  • Experience with digital design, circuit analysis, characterization, and qualification.
  • Knowledge of ATE test flows, DFT, and device physics.
  • Proficiency in statistical data analysis using JMP software or other tools.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, critical thinking, and ability to drive problems to closure independently.
  • Experience with Advantest 93K tester with SMT7 or SMT8 OS is preferred.
  • Familiarity with scripting/programming knowledge in Python or Perl.
