Broadcast IT Field Engineer

What you'll do

• Plan and execute engineering aspects for live productions, remotes, and field projects.
• Set up and operate Fiber, IP, and Satellite transmission links.
• Manage video and audio routing, remote communications, and signal processing.
• Perform maintenance and repair on television remote broadcast and receiving equipment.
• Provide hardware and software support for laptops, printers, and connectivity equipment.
• Participate in technology design, installation, and integration for broadcast IP and IT systems.
• Troubleshoot and solve complex technical problems in fast-paced field environments.
• Manage workload and workflow for a group of peers during production assignments.

What we're looking for

• Typically, 4 or more years of experience in television, including troubleshooting, maintenance, and repair of broadcast production, IT, and RF/satellite systems.
• Strong operational skills with SNG satellite, microwave, video encoding, ENG/Studio cameras, A/V routers, video switchers, audio mixers, and fiber optic links.
• Demonstrated knowledge of computer and data networking hardware and applications to provide complete technical support in the field.
• Proficiency with MS Office Applications including Outlook, Word, Excel, and Visio.
• Ability to physically lift and move equipment weighing 50 pounds or more.
• Ability to travel domestically and occasionally internationally on short notice.
• 4 year technical degree, preferably in electronics (or equivalent education/experience/training).
• Working knowledge of emerging technologies including IP video transport (preferred); experience with technology companies like Sony or Evertz (preferred).
