What you'll do

  • Conduct research and development in advanced microelectronics including design, verification, modeling, testing, and analysis of circuits.
  • Develop digital, analog, mixed-signal, or RF Systems on Chip (SoCs) for high-performance aerospace applications.
  • Address emerging microelectronics challenges in AI, radar, electronic warfare, navigation, and secure communication systems.
  • Transition research concepts into viable technologies for Boeing programs by collaborating with senior engineers and mentors.
  • Document technical findings and results to contribute to internal R&D knowledge bases.
  • Present research results and findings to technical leaders within the organization.

What we're looking for

  • Must have completed the first year of PhD studies by July 2027.
  • Pursuing a PhD in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Microelectronics, Applied Physics, or a related discipline.
  • Ability to work full-time for 10-12 weeks during Summer 2027.
  • Experience in areas such as digital logic design, SoC architecture, semiconductor physics, CMOS/BiCMOS fabrication, or analog/mixed-signal and RF circuit design.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen to obtain the required U.S. Security Clearance.
  • Experience with industry-standard EDA tools like Cadence, Synopsys, or Siemens EDA (preferred).
  • Export Control Requirement: Safety Sensitive: Security.
