As an AWS Sr. Lead Software Engineer-Java/SpringBoot/Terraform on the Card Cobrand team, you will join an agile team focused on building and delivering secure, stable, and scalable technology products. You will provide technical guidance to teams and vendors while developing high-quality production code, reviewing others' work, and influencing product design and technical operations. Your role involves serving as a subject matter expert and advocating for firmwide frameworks and software development lifecycle practices. You will utilize Java, Spring Boot, and Terraform to manage infrastructure as code across large-scale cloud environments. The role requires expertise in AWS services including EC2, EKS, Lambda, S3, RDS, DynamoDB, API Gateway, IAM, VPC, and CloudWatch. You will solve complex problems related to the design, development, and modernization of cloud-native systems within a cards and cobranding domain.

What you'll do

Develop secure, high-quality production code using Java and Spring Boot.
Design, develop, and modernize large-scale cloud-native systems on AWS.
Manage Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform across large-scale environments.
Provide technical guidance and direction to business teams, contractors, and vendors.
Review and debug code written by other team members.
Drive decisions regarding product design, application functionality, and technical operations.
Act as a subject matter expert for firmwide frameworks and SDLC practices.
Influence project decision-makers to adopt leading-edge technologies.

What we're looking for

Formal training on software engineering concepts and 5+ years of applied experience.
Hands-on practical experience in system design, application development, testing, and operational stability.
Advanced experience in one or more programming languages including Java.
Advanced experience designing and modernizing large-scale, cloud-native systems on AWS using services like EC2, EKS, Lambda, and S3.
Hands-on experience designing, implementing, and managing Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform.
Advanced knowledge of software applications and in-depth expertise in at least one technical discipline such as cloud or AI.
Demonstrated experience leading the development of scalable, production-grade services using Spring Boot.
Previous hands-on professional experience working within a Cards/Cobranding environment (preferred).
