As an AWS Lead Software Engineer-Java/Spring Boot on the Connected Commerce team, you will join an agile team focused on designing, developing, and delivering secure, stable, and scalable software components for state-of-the-art technology products. You will manage the full software development lifecycle by writing high-quality code, troubleshooting complex technical problems, and analyzing large data sets to inform decision-making. Your daily work involves building microservices and REST APIs while driving team adoption of enterprise-authorized AI-assisted engineering practices for code review and test acceleration. The role requires proficiency in Java, Spring Boot, and database querying languages, alongside experience with CI/CD, application resiliency, and security. You will also utilize cloud technologies including AWS EC2, EKS, Lambda, and S3 to solve technical challenges while ensuring the secure handling of data within modern engineering workflows.
Develop, code, and troubleshoot high-quality software solutions using Java and Spring Boot.
Design and implement microservices and REST APIs with consideration for upstream and downstream systems.
Analyze large, diverse datasets to identify problems and inform decision-making for stable application development.
Implement automation within the Software Development Life Cycle toolchain to improve delivery value.
Drive team adoption of enterprise-authorized AI-assisted engineering practices for code review, refactoring, and testing.
Establish validation standards for AI-generated outputs to ensure security, performance, and accuracy.
Manage technical troubleshooting to resolve complex issues within a secure and scalable cloud environment.
What we're looking for
Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 5+ years of applied experience.
Experience developing, debugging, and maintaining code in large corporate environments using modern programming and database querying languages.
Proficiency in developing, debugging, and maintaining code using Java, Spring Boot, Microservices, and REST APIs.
Experience across the full Software Development Life Cycle.
Exposure to agile methodologies including CI/CD, Application Resiliency, and Security.
Emerging knowledge of software applications and technical processes such as cloud, AI, machine learning, or mobile.
Demonstrated experience leading the use of approved AI-assisted development tools and coaching others on safe, compliant adoption.
Familiarity with modern front-end technologies like React.JS or Angular (preferred); exposure to AWS technologies like EC2, EKS, Lambda, and S3 (preferred).
