As an Avionics / Aircraft Electrical Systems Technician 3, you will provide advanced technical expertise in testing, troubleshooting, and repairing avionics and aircraft electrical systems to ensure defect-free delivery. You will perform operational and functional testing of components according to engineering specifications, drawings, and manuals while installing and repairing defective wiring using splicing, soldering, and pinning techniques. The role involves setting up test equipment, managing documentation, and mentoring team members on diagnostic processes. Key requirements include the ability to interpret blueprints and schematic diagrams, along with proficiency in avionics systems and potentially other aircraft systems like hydraulics or flight controls. Preferred qualifications include an A&P license, FCC license, or NCATT certification. This role focuses on resolving system discrepancies and ensuring high quality standards within the production of advanced business jet aircraft.
Test, troubleshoot, and repair avionics and aircraft electrical systems to ensure defect-free delivery.
Install and functionally test components according to engineering specifications, drawings, and manuals.
Repair or replace defective wiring using approved methods including splicing, soldering, and pinning.
Set up and operate specialized test equipment to verify system performance and reliability.
Mentor team members on troubleshooting techniques and the installation of electrical systems.
Document all work performed in logs and required paperwork to ensure conformity standards.
Pre-inspect work to reduce rework and improve production efficiency.
Support final phase testing and certification, including potential aircraft flight tests.
What we're looking for
High School Diploma or GED required.
5 years of experience in an avionics/electrical career field (2 years of accredited aviation electronics schooling may offset two years of experience).
Strong experience troubleshooting avionics and aircraft electrical systems required.
Ability to read and interpret blueprints and schematic diagrams.
Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.
Business jet avionics troubleshooting experience preferred.
A&P license, FCC license, or NCATT certification preferred.
Proficiency in other aircraft systems (hydraulics, flight controls, etc.) and APU/engine run qualifications preferred.
