JOB TITLE: Associate Principal, Software Engineering: Software Development Test (SDET)
The Associate Principal, Software Engineering: Software Development Test (SDET) joins the Enterprise Quality Management team to ensure the stability of mission-critical financial systems. This role involves designing automation strategies, creating test plans, and writing code against software platforms to support the full software development life cycle. Key responsibilities include developing automation frameworks, performing performance and load testing, and managing test environments and data. The candidate must possess proficiency in Java, object-oriented design, and automated testing frameworks. Required skills include experience with API and high-volume data testing, Unix/Linux environments, and transaction processing systems. The role addresses technical challenges within clearing and risk systems, specifically focusing on ensuring the reliability of complex multi-system scenarios and high-volume data integrations within a regulated financial infrastructure.
Design and champion automation strategies to ensure the stability and performance of mission-critical financial systems.
Develop, enhance, and extend automated testing frameworks to support the software development lifecycle.
Create and execute automation test plans, including functional, regression, and integration testing.
Identify quality tasks during sprint cycles and implement automation for new features.
Participate in performance, load, and high-volume data testing efforts.
Define test strategies, conduct requirements analysis for testability, and perform risk and mitigation planning.
Manage test environments and test data, including planning, creation, and control.
Analyze and communicate test results while managing defect tracking and resolution.
What we're looking for
BS degree in Computer Science, a similar technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
’ experience working with manual and automation technologies as an expert.
Experience working in an Agile environment.
Hands-on experience designing, developing, and maintaining test cases using industry-standard tools and automation frameworks.
Experience with at least two of the following: web/mobile development, Unix/Linux, transaction processing, distributed systems, large software systems, security software, or public-cloud platforms.
Strong testing experience including developing test plans, automating test cases, and working with test frameworks.
Understanding of the systems development life cycle (SDLC) with proven experience implementing software applications.
Proficiency in Java-based software development, including object-oriented design, architecture principles, automated testing frameworks, and API/high-volume data testing.
Streaming and event-driven system experience (preferred).
Experience with message queuing and event sourcing tools like IBM MQ or Kafka (preferred).
Functional expertise in clearing and risk systems and familiarity with technical offerings like integrations and Core Connectors (preferred).
Previous experience testing in Financial Services, Derivatives Clearing, Risk, and Data warehousing systems (preferred).
