ASE - Engineering Program Manager, Search and Answer Relevance joins the AIML organization to lead large cross-functional projects focused on delivering search products and world knowledge answering features. This role involves managing complex initiatives by coordinating deep learning and AI engineers who utilize Large Language Models to improve relevance metrics and quality for shipped features. The manager is responsible for creating project schedules, identifying risks, managing dependencies, and leading experiment prioritization while overseeing testing budgets and executive ship-room discussions. Key responsibilities include driving consensus among diverse teams, gathering internal dogfooding feedback, and utilizing both quantitative and qualitative data to advocate for user experience. Candidates should possess expertise in machine learning powered products, technical system architecture, and systems design tradeoffs to navigate the complexities of delivering high-impact search and generative answer features within aggressive timelines.
Manage project schedules by identifying critical paths, dependencies, and risks to ensure timely delivery of search products.
Lead cross-functional teams to develop and launch features using Large Language Models and advanced AI technologies.
Drive executive ship-room discussions to shape critical product-launch decisions and prioritize experiments.
Monitor and report program health to senior leadership using objective data and status updates.
Measure success through key performance indicators including relevance, quality, and usage scale.
Collect and incorporate internal dogfooding feedback during the feature convergence process.
Advocate for high-quality user experience by analyzing both quantitative and qualitative data.
Improve team operations by identifying and implementing more effective delivery processes.
What we're looking for
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
3+ years of experience driving large-scale program building for machine learning powered products.
Strong ability to manage complex project schedules, dependencies, and critical paths across multiple work streams.
Solid knowledge of technical system architecture and systems design tradeoffs.
Proven ability to drive disambiguation and lead cross-functional teams to meet aggressive timelines.
Experience delivering search and generative answer relevance metrics and quality improvements in large scale products (preferred).
Experience orchestrating the delivery of multiple significant client/server software products requiring large organizations of 100+ people (preferred).
Computer Science postgraduate degrees or an MBA (preferred).
