As an Artificial Intelligence Research - Senior Associate, you will join a global team within the Chief Data & Analytics Office to develop novel AI capabilities and research-driven solutions for financial services. You will collaborate with data scientists and engineering teams to formulate problems, generate hypotheses, develop new algorithms, and deliver high-quality Python code for production-scale applications. Your work involves tackling complex challenges in areas such as multi-agent systems, foundation model training, reinforcement learning, synthetic data generation, and multimodal document AI. The role requires a deep understanding of state-of-the-art machine learning techniques and experience with tools like PyTorch, TensorFlow, HuggingFace Transformers, and various agent frameworks. You will contribute to high-impact business products while providing thought leadership through white papers and presentations to address technical and business challenges in the financial services domain.
Develop novel AI techniques, tools, and frameworks to solve complex large-scale problems in financial services.
Formulate research problems, generate hypotheses, and develop new algorithms and models for commercial applications.
Conduct experiments and rigorous evaluations to synthesize and communicate results to technical and business audiences.
Deliver modular, optimized, and high-quality Python code with comprehensive testing for production-scale deployment.
Translate complex business requirements into technical problem formulations and actionable research directions.
Contribute to the creation of reusable assets, products, and high-impact business applications.
Provide thought leadership through white papers, publications, and presentations in internal and external forums.
What we're looking for
PhD or MS in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
At least 2 years of relevant work experience in AI/ML.
Research publications in top-tier AI/ML venues such as NeurIPS, ICML, ICLR, ICAPS, or CRYPTO.
Ability to deliver modular, optimized, and high-quality Python code with tests.
Deep understanding of fundamental AI/ML techniques and current state-of-the-art research.
Practical experience in statistical data analysis, experimental design, and creating benchmarks for evaluation.
Strong track record in specific areas such as synthetic data, hybrid agent architectures, multimodal discovery, foundation models, reinforcement learning, or multi-agent systems.
Effective verbal and written communication skills to address both technical and business audiences.
