Artificial Intelligence Research Director - Executive Director

What you'll do

• Develop novel AI techniques, tools, and frameworks to solve complex large-scale problems for the bank.
• Formulate research problems, generate hypotheses, and develop new algorithms and models.
• Conduct experiments and rigorous evaluations to synthesize and communicate research results.
• Deliver well-tested, high-quality, and modular Python code for production-scale delivery.
• Own a portfolio of AI capabilities and drive strategic directions and prioritization with business stakeholders.
• Translate research into real-world impact through production-ready solutions, prototypes, and reusable components.
• Provide thought leadership through white papers, publications, and presentations in internal and external forums.
• Lead and mentor AI researchers while partnering with engineering and business stakeholders to drive execution.

What we're looking for

• PhD in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• 4+ years of relevant work experience.
• Research publications in top-tier AI/ML venues such as NeurIPS, ICML, or ICLR.
• Deep understanding of fundamental AI/ML techniques and current state-of-the-art research.
• Practical software development experience delivering modular, optimized, and tested Python code.
• Experience leading and mentoring AI researchers while partnering with engineering and business stakeholders.
• Demonstrated ability to translate research into production-ready solutions, prototypes, or reusable components.
• Deep research expertise in multi-agent systems and reinforcement learning.
• Hands-on experience building and deploying multi-agent solutions with frameworks like Google ADK or LangGraph.
• Practical experience with ML/RL libraries like PyTorch or HuggingFace (preferred).
• Familiarity with formal verification tools and languages like Coq, TLA+, or Z3 (preferred).
