The Electronics Technician 3 (2nd Shift) joins the Amherst Systems team to support the development and production of Simulation Systems solutions. This role involves testing and troubleshooting RF products, including drawers, discrete components, and microelectronic parts, alongside diagnosing digital circuit cards based on technical specifications. The technician performs RF tuning under a microscope, modifies avionics systems according to engineering drawings, and maintains or calibrates test equipment. Daily tasks include assembling electronic and mechanical subassemblies, recording data in test systems, and writing or modifying test procedures. Key required skills include proficiency with spectrum analyzers, oscilloscopes, and network analyzers, as well as manual dexterity for handling small parts. The work focuses on the production of advanced electronics and electronic warfare technology to solve critical problems in defense systems and protect service members.
Test and troubleshoot RF products, discrete components, and microelectronic parts according to technical specifications.
Troubleshoot digital circuit cards using schematics, wiring diagrams, and source control drawings.
Perform RF tuning on microelectronics under a microscope with high precision and manual dexterity.
Modify avionics systems based on engineering drawings and technical publications.
Maintain, calibrate, and repair test equipment as required by production needs.
Record data in test systems and document all actions performed in official forms.
Write or modify test procedures to improve testing processes.
Perform assembly operations for electronic and mechanical components to maintain workflow.
What we're looking for
High school diploma or GED plus 4 years experience, an associate's degree plus 2 years experience, or military electronic schooling plus 2 years experience.
Experience testing and troubleshooting RF and digital equipment.
Experience using test equipment such as spectrum analyzers, oscilloscopes, and network analyzers.
Manual dexterity to handle and assemble small parts.
Hands-on use of drawings, wire lists, source control drawings, or test procedures (preferred).
Experience working with microelectronics and performing tuning under a microscope (preferred).
Experience with soldering, electronic assembly, engineering teams, or defense electronics (preferred).
